About us

UW International Training Education Centre for Health Private Limited (I-TECH India) is a public health organisation working towards strengthening health systems and catalysing people centred, evidence-based health interventions responsive to community needs. I-TECH India designs customized health interventions that are people-centred and aligned to the health needs of the community.

I-TECH India is committed to improving health outcomes and building equitable health system through long-term capacity building, health systems strengthening and targeted, data-driven interventions.

I-TECH India is closely affiliated with the International Training and Education Centre for Health (I-TECH), a global network that works in 30 countries, based at the Department of Global Health, University of Washington at Seattle, Washington, USA.

Since two decades, I-TECH India has been supported through the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and has partnered with National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. I-TECH India provides technical assistance to the National AIDS Control Organisation for enhancing the care, support and treatment services for HIV/AIDS and strengthening the national strategic information system under the National AIDS Control Programme.

History

Founded with a vision to optimise the public health systems for delivering accessible and quality health care, our journey began in 2003, with a handful of passionate individuals dedicated to making a difference.

As a PEPFAR-supported initiative, the activities in India started in 2003, with the focus on strengthening the capacities of the public healthcare workers engaged in providing treatment services for HIV/AIDS and improving the quality of service delivery under the National AIDS Control Programme. Our focus has remained consistent on health system strengthening however the strategic approaches evolved and expanded over the time, as per the emerging priorities. In 2015, I-TECH India Private Limited was established as an independent entity in India, but remains closely affiliated with the University of Washington.

We have grown, evolved, and adapted to evolving priorities, guided by our core values and unwavering commitment. Along the way, we've faced challenges, celebrated milestones, and forged meaningful partnerships.

Today, we stand as a testament to the power of collective efforts, collaborative initiatives, and the belief that positive change is possible. As we look to the future, we remain steadfast in our mission, driven by the belief that our best days are yet to come.

I-TECH India boasts a diverse, multi-disciplinary team with a background in clinical medicine, public health, operational research, programme management, epidemiology, data analysis and various aspects of the medical and healthcare spectrum. The team leverages technical and managerial capabilities, fostering key relationships with esteemed medical institutions and national/state ministries to implement robust public health programs effectively and efficiently.
